More than 1 in 4 school-age children have a vision problem.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, 80% of kids in Ohio who fail vision screenings don’t receive follow-up eye care.

iSee Ohio is working to close this gap by providing free eye exams and glasses to children directly in their schools.

Success Stories

“What a wonderful experience for our district to have the opportunity to participate in the iSee program! Harper has benefited from his new glasses! He is much more willing to come up to the board and solve problems in math class. He has commented that his vision is clearer, and his smile says it all!”

District Nurse
North Ridgeville City School District
“One family had a kindergartener and first-grade student. Both boys had very poor vision. The parents do not have insurance and the option of going to the eye doctor was not possible. We’ve seen great academic growth for both! Without the glasses, I do not believe they would have had as much success!”
Holly Keller
Elementary School Social Worker
Buckeye Central Local School District
“Parents and staff have noticed a difference in the kiddos and their academics. Some students have been more confident in social interactions and others [in] academics. I have staff ask when we will be doing it again and parents who were so thankful for the program either due to transportation, finances or insurance reasons.”

“iSee Ohio is instrumental in removing barriers to students who need glasses. By bringing optometrists to Columbus City Schools, our students are receiving the care and services that they need to be successful. I can absolutely guarantee you that the students I referred to the iSee clinic would not have received vision care without this kind of outreach.”

“(Our students) are more engaged in class. They make sure they have their glasses with them every day. It is awesome to see that they want to wear their glasses and take care of them at such a young age.”
Holly Raby
Hunter Elementary
“I have heard NOTHING but amazing things from admin and staff. The teachers have shared that the students have been great at wearing them and taking care of them. Several of the students randomly popped into my office and said, ‘Look, Nurse Sprinkle, I have my glasses on so I can see!’”
